What is Stalking?

The legal definition of stalking is defined primarily by state statutes. While statutes vary, most define stalking as a course of conduct that places a person in fear for their safety.
Stalking behaviors can include:

- Non-consensual communication, including face-to-face, telephone calls, voice messages, electronic mail, written letters, unwanted gifts, etc.
- Threatening or obscene gestures
- Pursuing or following
- Surveillance or other types of observation
- Trespassing
- Vandalism
- Non-consensual touching
- Asking people you know about your habits and/or whereabouts
