Congratulations to Safe Connections supporter Shanti Parikh on being featured in the St. Louis Business Journal’s “7 Women to Watch” cover story. Planned Parenthood of St. Louis CEO Paula Gianiao is retiring and as board chair, Shanti is in charge of finding her replacement.  With more and more legislation limiting the amount of money for women’s reproductive health, this will not be an easy task.  “What happens in other states will affect what’s happening here, it’s a window to what’s on the horizon,” Parikh told the paper.  We always knew you were one to watch. Way to go, Shanti!

Shanti Parikh was a featured panelist at our Together! Engaging Women/Empowering Girls brunch two years ago. She addressed customs and accepted practices in violence toward women on an international scale and really helped open a lot of our eyes to the extent of what is happening globally.
