We welcome your involvement with Safe Connections and encourage you to fill out our intern application. Please note that all internship opportunities are unpaid.

Clinical Internship

For Graduate Students only

  • Gain skills in co-facilitating psychoeducational support groups for adult and/or adolescent survivors of domestic/sexual violence
  • Gain skills in conducting psycho-social assessments with adult and adolescent clients
  • Participate in curriculum review and development
  • Potential—per fit and availability—to gain skills in brief crisis counseling with individual clients
  • Crisis Helpline or Court Watch experience required as part of Clinical Internship

Prevention Education Internship

For Graduate Students only

  • Become knowledgeable in the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence
  • Work in schools and alternative settings with teens
  • Gain skills in co-facilitating prevention education workshops and groups with adolescents
  • Participate in curriculum review and development
  • Potential to combine with Crisis Helpline or Clinical opportunities per program needs and availability

Safe Connections on Campus Internship

For Undergraduate Interns only

  • Develop understanding of state and national-level policies to address sexual violence on college campuses
  • Gain skills in co-facilitating workshops and presentations to promote and advocate the reduction of sexual violence on college campuses.
  • Collaborate with college student groups working on sexual violence response and prevention to promote dialogue, enhance programming, and review university policy and resources
  • Planning and promotion of campus-wide events to raise awareness of sexual violence
  • Participate in curriculum review and development

Development and Marketing Internship

Development interns are crucial to our fundraising efforts throughout the year. As a Development and Marketing Intern, you will help with:

  • Social media site updates and expansion of social media efforts
  • Support for young professionals group
  • Correspondence, mail merges/mailings
  • Grant research and reporting
  • Media relations as assigned
  • Event planning support
